WELCOME

Welcome to the community portal for the Rosen Method Professional Association of North America (RMPA-NA). The purpose of this website is to bring together working RMPA-NA professionals to exchange knowledge & ideas, share resources and continue the important and essential work of Marion Rosen.

From time to time, RMPA-NA will be hosting events by our esteemed colleagues and experts in the field of somatic bodywork and trauma. We encourage you to inform us of events you believe will serve our members. We also invite you to share ideas with our steering committee so we can create the content that is relevant to your practice.

This is an inclusive space where respect towards one another is essential to civil sharing. We strive to support each other always. Imagine this space as a virtual sharing circle where humility and kindness are grounding intentions.

Our current steering committee consists of Jetta Van Hemert, Jeanie C. Williams, Patricia “Patty” Angelina and Sarah Hampton.  Paul Antico serves as our IT and website maintenance facilitator.

We are here to be of service to the vastly divergent Rosen community. Let us know how we can best support you, your practice and Rosen work at large.

RMPA-NA’s Ongoing Mission

Throughout these years, the core mission of RMPA-NA has remained consistent: to provide an interconnected, supportive community for Rosen Method Bodywork and movement practitioners in North America. The Association continues to advocate for the recognition of Rosen Method within the broader health and wellness field, aiming to elevate the practice and ensure its long-term viability.

As RMPA-NA moves forward, it remains committed to its foundational values of connection, integrity, and professional excellence. The Association looks to the future with a focus on innovation, resilience, and the continued growth and support of the Rosen Method community across North America.

RMPA-NA strives to be a well-organized, action-driven professional organization that provides leadership and resources to empower its members to build successful Rosen Method Bodywork and Movement careers, along with encouraging the exchange of ideas and promoting a robust community of like-minded individuals interested in all areas of our work. Concurrently, we strive to encourage members to step out and step up to meet the demands of a thriving practice and to assist in establishing Rosen Method as a viable, mainstream, integrative healthcare discipline that is broadly available and utilized for the purpose of individual and global awareness, conscious evolution and peace.

The RMPA-NA website will serve as a depository for the safekeeping of historical RMPA-NA created videotapes by our esteemed teachers, colleagues and other experts in the field of somatic bodywork therapy who have dared to step up and model our work in the world.

We strive to provide a platform where all members of the North American Rosen community can access mutual support for personal and professional growth as it relates to Rosen Method Bodywork and movement. This includes the promotion of peer meetings for social connections, as well as discussion forums about issues important to those navigating Rosen Method -- either as a profession or for personal growth. We will continue to interview teachers, practitioners and students who offer invaluable resources to our community.

Other examples we hope to offer may include business development, practice standards and ethics, and support through an internship in either bodywork or movement. In addition, RMPA-NA will strive to provide a platform for the dissemination of information related to or about Rosen Method to the public and will advocate for Rosen Method throughout North America. RMPA-NA, in all of its offerings, will strive to encourage, promote and publicize Rosen Method Bodywork and movement throughout North America and beyond in some instances.

These are just a few of the recent RMPA-NA offerings to our community!

Interconnectedness and Collaboration: RMPA-NA encouraged increased collaboration among practitioners by facilitating regional and cross-regional meetings. These gatherings, held virtually, allowed for the sharing of best practices, strategies for client engagement, and insights into the unique challenges faced by different communities.

Enhanced Membership Services: The association introduced new benefits for its members, including access to an expanded online resource library, discounts on continuing education courses, and enhanced marketing support to help practitioners promote their services in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Updated Code of Ethics: In 2021, RMPA-NA revised its code of ethics to reflect the evolving landscape of bodywork and movement practices. The updated code emphasized the importance of adaptability, client safety, and the responsible use of technology in practice.

2022-Present: Looking Ahead

In the years following 2021, RMPA-NA continued to build on the progress made during the pandemic, focusing on long-term sustainability and the growth of the Rosen Method community in North America. Key developments during this period include:

Hybrid Events on Zoom: As restrictions eased, RMPA-NA will offer events that combine in-person and virtual participation. This approach will allow the association to reach a broader audience while maintaining the benefits of face-to-face interaction. Conferences, workshops, and retreats will be designed to accommodate both formats, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all members.

Focus on Diversity and Inclusion: RMPA-NA will make a concerted effort to increase diversity within its community, recognizing that a more inclusive environment enriches the practice of Rosen Method and all of us generally. The association introduced initiatives aimed at supporting underrepresented groups within the field and creating more culturally sensitive practices.

Practice Building and Business Development: Understanding that many practitioners faced challenges in building and sustaining their practices, RMPA-NA hopes to offer enhanced business development support. This may include training on digital marketing, client retention strategies, and other ideas offered by our Rosen community.

Ethics Statement: RMPA-NA follows the ethical standards approved by the Executive Team and Ethics Council of the Rosen Method Institute. Please send an email to riethicalcouncil@gmail.com for further information.
